Contraception is part of routine healthcare. The choice of contraception depends on age, health, lifestyle, and what suits each individual.
Some people need to change contraception because of side effects or changed circumstances, or renew what they are already using.
When is the service not suitable?
- Insertion or removal of an IUD or contraceptive implant, which requires an examination.
- Emergency contraception.
- Sterilization.
- Choosing contraception when risk factors need to be assessed with an examination or measurement.
General advice
Contraceptives are used to prevent pregnancy. They help you manage fertility while in use, but they do not permanently affect fertility or cause infertility.
No single contraceptive suits everyone — the right choice is individual.

If you miss a pill
Take the missed pill right away (sometimes 2 pills on the same day). Protection is not reduced.
Take the missed pill and also use extra protection (e.g. a condom) for the next 7 days.
If fewer than 7 pills remain in the pack, start the next pack immediately without a break.

Most contraceptives require a prescription.

Frequently asked questions
Can I get the pill online?
Yes. You answer a health questionnaire, a doctor assesses which contraception suits you and sends a prescription electronically if appropriate.
Can I renew my contraception here?
Yes, whether it is the pill, the ring or the patch. The doctor reviews your health information before renewing.
What if I get side effects from the pill?
You can send a request and the doctor will assess whether switching to another method is right for you.
Can I get a coil or an implant through you?
No. Fitting or removing a coil or implant requires an examination and is done at a health centre or by a gynaecologist.
Can I get emergency contraception?
No, not through the service. Emergency contraception is available without a prescription at pharmacies.
